Specific Need

The Coronado Area Council (CAC) of Scouting America is dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to experience the life-changing benefits of Scouting—regardless of financial circumstances. Camperships and scholarships provide essential financial assistance for youth who may not otherwise be able to participate in Scouting activities, attend summer camp, or access leadership training programs. By eliminating financial barriers, we create a pathway for all young people to develop character, leadership skills, and a commitment to service.

Mission

The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

As a local council, Coronado Area Council plays a vital role in fulfilling this mission by delivering high-quality Scouting programs across 32 counties in North Central and Northwest Kansas. We provide youth with opportunities for outdoor adventure, leadership development, and hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for success in life.

Profile

The Coronado Area Council has been serving communities for over a century, fostering the development of youth into responsible, engaged citizens. Our programs—Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouting, and Exploring—offer boys and girls life-changing experiences through outdoor adventure, service projects, and leadership training.

In 2024, our impact included:

393 new Scouts joined the Council
7,300+ hours of leadership projects completed
10,098 service hours benefiting local communities to date
$313,000+ back in our communities through service projects
