Profile

Located at the crossroads of Kansas, Saline County has shown great interest in healthy, locally-grown foods. Based on recent needs assessment, there is great interest in creating a stronger connection between local farmers and consumers, and improving access to the food insecure areas of the community.

Prairieland Market seeks to meet those needs by creating a new facility that will enable greater access to healthy, locally-grown and organic foods, enable farmers to provide more product for the community, increase value-added food production (prepared foods), and offer educational programs that will allow our community to gain more knowledge about nutrition, preparation, and preservation of healthy foods.
