Specific Need
Theatre Salina uses funds like this to provide scholarships to students taking skill classes in acting, vocal performance, and dance. Additionally, funds allow young people of limited means to attend live theatre, many of whom are seeing it for the first time. More than 8,000 young people attend Theatre Salina productions annually, many of them at no cost because of contributions. Additionally, special "sensory friendly" performances are being scheduled that enable entire families with members who may be challenged in many ways to attend. Contributions also support outreach for special audiences with shows that deal with depression, children on the spectrum, and dementia. Included with these productions are special "talk back" conversations with health professionals to engage a blended audience in better awareness.
Mission
Theatre Salina creates live theater to inspire, educate, and entertain.
